Harvick Wins Championship, Race

Kevin Harvick won his first Nascar championship tonight by winning the Nascar season finale at Homestead. His rivals Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano had tire and pit ussues. Ryan Newman finished 2nd in points and the race. It is Harvick's 1st Sprint Cup Championship. Congrats to him. - Lucas Mercier

Nascar Championship Pick

With the final Nascar race in about 4 and 1/4 hours I want to write in who I think will win. I predict Denny Hamlin will win because it is one of his best tracks. He wins 1/5 of the time he comes here. Ryan Newman won't win because he can't ever finish high enough in a race this year. Watch out for Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick to sneak up a take it though. Coverage starts at 1 PM ET on ESPN and the race starts at 3 PM ET. It is the final Nascar race on ESPN. - Lucas Mercier

F1 Cancels Double Points

F! has announced it has canceled its idea for double points on the final race in 2015. Bernie Ecclestone the F1 director annouced that low interest by teams and less excitement caused this. He said if it were only up to him he would put double points on the last three races.
I personally liked double points for the final race. - Lucas Mercier

Nascar Nationwide Series:Matt Kenseth Wins Race, Elliott, Penske get titles.

Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch dominated the race but troubles pulled both of them out of contention for a win. Larson hit the wall and Busch had pit troubles. Matt Kenseth took over the lead with about a quarter of the race left and led the rest to win. Brad Kesolowski took advantage of Kyle Busch's mistakes to give Roger Penske the owner's championship. Chase Elliott already clinched the driver's title last week at Phoenix. This the last Nascar Junior series race on ESPN through at least 2024 and the last race with Nationwide as sponsor. Next year likely Chase Elliott, Regan Smith, Dylan Kwasnieski, and Chris Buescher will compete for the title. - Lucas Mercier

Nascar Says Goodbye To ESPN

Tomorrow night's season finale is the final Nascar on ESPN race. NBC will replace ESPN in broadcasting the races. - Lucas Mercier

Caterham to Return Despite Lack of Funding

Caterham announced it will return in Abu Dhabi. The team withdrew from the last race in Austin, Texas due to sponsorship and managerial issues. This will likely be Kamui Kobayashi's last race in an F1 car due to his lack of funding. The other Caterham driver Marcus Ericcson has signed with Sauber next season leaving Caterham's driver lineup in 2015 unknown if they still have a team. - Lucas Mercier

Wallace Done At KBM

Kyle Busch announced his Truck lineup with Erik Jones and newcomer Justin Boston both driving full time. He also announced he will re-expand to three cars with three drivers in a third car. Kyle Busch said he, Matt Tifft, and Daniel Suarez will drive a third car for his team. No sponsorships were announced. I would have loved to see Darrell"Bubba"Wallace JR. in a car. Unfortunately, sponsorship issues will make him  go to a different team hopefully. - Lucas Mercier

Crafton,Kyle Busch, Toyota Win Titles in NCWTS

Matt Crafton became the first driver to win back-to-back Nascar Camping world Truck Series drivers championships by finishing 9th in tonight's race. Darrell Wallace JR. won the race in a hard fought battle against Kyle Larson. Kyle Busch's 4th place finish was enough to give him back-to-back owner's championships. Toyota clinched the truck championship when they started the race. I hoped Ryan Blaney would win the title. Next year I predict the title will be between Erik Jones, Ryan Blaney, and Darrell Wallace JR.
- Lucas Mercier

Nascar Truck Title

At least two titles are on the line tonight. In the drivers championship Matt Crafton has a 25 point lead over Ryan Blaney meaning Crafton would have to finish 11th, or with a lap led 12th, or 13th with most laps lead if Blaney wins. In the owners title KBM's #51 truck has a 10 point lead over Matt Crafton, meaning Matt Crafton must finish 10 points ahead of Busch to win the owners title. Toyota already clinched the manufacturer's title. The season finale starts tonight  at 8 PM ET on Fox Sports 1. The race is at Homestead Miami Speedway. - Lucas Mercier

Gordon Robbed of Chase, Harvick Wins at Phoenix

Kevin Harvick was unstoppable today leading the most laps, leading a lap, and winning the race. But as he and Jeff Gordon were expected to clinch the final two spots in the chase by a point, when Ryan Newman shoved Kyle Larson into the wall in the final corner. That clinched a chase spot for Newman and knocked Larson from about 10th to 28th.If you saw the race you would see clearly Newman dove up the track to intentionally wreck Larson. If Nascar can get Jeff Gordon into the chase last year they can do it again this year. I was really pissed by Newman's cheap-ass move, and that Gordon and Kesolowski weren't in the chase. Congrats to the other chasers Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, and Kevin Harvick on making it to the final round of the championship.

Chase Elliott Wins Title, Kesolowski wins Nationwide Race

Kyle Busch dominated the race leading over 80% of the laps. Brad Kesolowski passed him with a lap to go to win the race, while Chase Elliott just had to finish ahead of teammate Regan Smith to clinch the championship a race early. Chase Elliott did it making it look easy and winning his first Nascar Nationwide Series title. He was the youngest driver to win a major Nascar series championship. He is a descendant of former Nascar champion Bill Elliott.

Sauber Contreversy

The Sauber F1 Team may be headed for hard times financially. They have agreed to sign three drivers, incoming rookie Felipe Nasr, Marcus Erikson who currently drives for Caterham, and one of their current drivers Adrian Sutil. Their other current driver Esteban Gutierez is expecting to leave F1 with little teams showing interest in him. It will be interesting to see which drivers they pick and if any lawsuits happen.

Rosberg wins Pole for Brazil Race

Nico Rosberg clinched pole for the next to last race in the F1 season. He edged out his teammate Lewis Hamliton and Felipe Massa. He is 24 points behind Lewis in the championship. I hoped Massa would get pole at his home track instead of another Mercedes 1-2.

Managerial Issues Spoil F1 Return for Barrichello with Caterham

It's no secret Rubens Barrichello wants to drive a Formula One car again. If Caterham had entered a car in this past weekend's race at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, their regular driver Kamui Kobayashi would have been replaced by Rubens Barrichello. It was a shame because Barrichello's home race would have been in a few weeks, and it would have been nice to watch him race again at his home in Brazil.

No Drivers Fined for Texas Incident

Today Nascar announced no drivers will be punished for their involvements with the post race Texas feud two days ago. Alan Gustafson and Kenny Francis crew chiefs' of Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne were both  fined $50,000 and placed on probation for 6 races.Hendrick crewman Jeremy Fuller (No. 5 team) along with Dwayne Doucette and Jason Ingle (No. 24 team) were each fined $25,000 and suspended for the next six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship points races. Additionally, Dean Mozingo, a crewman  for the No. 24 team -- was fined $10,000 and suspended through the next the next three Nascar  races for the same violations.
I personally think nobody should have had any punishment for there actions.

Harvick,Kez,Gordon Feud

During the race, on a restart Brad Kesolowski squeezed in between Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson and bumped into Jeff Gordon cutting Gordon's tire. When the race was over Jeff Gordon confronted Kesolowski and Harvick pushed Kez into Gordon starting a brawl between Gordon and Kez. During post race Jeff Gordon called Kez a "Dip expletive" and has now idea how he won a championship. Jimmie Johnson won the race.
