Dario Franchitti to retire

Dario Franchitti is retiring due to injuries. It's a shame I would have loved to see him comeback and win a couple races before a real retirement.

Nascar season over

I cannot believe that the Nascar season is over. Matt Crafton won the 2013 drivers title. While Kyle Busch won the owners championship. Toyota dominated the Manufacturers title. Now in Nationwide, Austin Dillon won the  drivers title through Nascar cheating. In the last race Regan Smith, Jeremy Clements, and Mike Wallace wrecked but the caution lasted 11 laps. The prolonged caution likely cost Sam Hornish Jr. a championship and a ride. But, Nascar Vice President Robin Pemberton says there was just a lot of oil on the track, I completely disagree. In the owners title, the 22 of Roger Penske, who had Brad Kesolwski, Ryan Blaney, AJ Allmindinger, and Joey Logano beat out the Kyle Busch driven,Joe Gibbs owned 54 car.  As that also gave Ford the manufacturers title too. Last but not least, the Sprint cup! JJ became 6 pack winning the drivers and owners title. Chevy clinched the Manufacturers title before the season ended.

Kwasniewski win K&N East Championship.

Dylan Kwasniewski won the Nascar K&N East championship a couple weeks ago. He beat Brett Moffitt in the final race of the season. Jesse Little earned ROTY. Kwasnieswki will probably move to the NCWTS next year with backer RockStar Energy. Moffitt will probably run a limited schedule in that series.

Magnussen to replace Perez

Kevin Magnussen will join Jensen Button at Mclaren next year. Bad choice by Whitmarsh, he should have signed Perez. Perez has more experience and would do better.

Vettel's 4th title

Congrats to Sebastian Vettel on his 4th title. He has became an F1 great. If he retired right know he would be an F1 master like Senna, Schumacher, and Fangio.

Hp leaving Pagenaud

HP is leaving Simon Pagenaud as a sponsor. Pagenaud is confirmed for next year. Yet his ROTY teammate Tristan Vautier is sponsored, but not confirmed. Weird huh? They might switch where Pagenaud gets a sponsor and Vautier is sponsorless.

Talledega and 2013 plate track races

The Daytona 500 was a bust. People want to see wrecks and obviously the big one. Talladega in 2013 fall race was a bad race. Austin Dillon got wrecked a caution comes out race is over, it should have been every one race to the checkered and duke it out.

Fun Fact: Parker Kligerman is the only driver in the top 10 in NNS standings to not make a sprint cup debut.

Nico Hulkenberg: No, he will now end up with Kimi's Lotus seat likely.

Felipe Massa:No he will end up Brazilian racing stock cars with Rubens Barichello.

Rob Smedley: No, he wont be with Ferrari, but was forced to sign with Williams.

MWR and Penske eliminated from 2013 chase for being stupid....

MWR and Penske should be penalized for being stupid.  Really? Arrange this whole mess on the publicly monitored radio guys?  You couldn't come up with a more creative way to fix the race.  The fact that the actions these teams took were so bold faced, so clumsy, so wrong for the sport should get everyone involved a suspension and the team's drivers eliminated form the chase.  All drivers too, Boyer included, because he was just a stupid as the rest of them.  Unfortunately if you keep digging you probably find that this goes even deeper and involves more teams.  Looking back at past years, surely this has happened before.  It happens in all kinds of racing.  Ask Nelson Piquet Jr. why he is running in NASCAR instead of F1.  NASCAR needs to make an internal policy of letting this go (bad idea) or clamping down all the way and heavily penalizing when they find these examples.  This is the only way to maintain the limited credibility NASCAR when they call this type of racing a "sport".  F1 suffers from this same issue.  I haven't watched the farce that is INDYCAR lately (past 9 years) but I bet it is manipulated also at some level.  We saw examples of the CART races being manipulated in the 90's.  NASCAR needs to clamp down when it gets to the level that even non-racing people can pick it out it when the radio transcript is read in a non-racing newspaper.  At least maintain the integrity of the show at a level that requires some serious studying to pick out the collusion between teams and drivers.  Don't put it right up to our face and expect us not to protest!  Fine the teams, remove the drivers form the chase, suspend the crew chiefs past next years Daytona and get on with the show...

MWR

MWR got the hammer dropped on them. Bowyer intentional spun at Richmond to get his teammate into the chase. Plus, Brian Vickers pit for no reason which got Logano into the chase. Vickers, Truex, and Bowyer were all docked 50 owners and drivers points. The team was fined 300k. Truex was knocked out of chase. Which put Ryan Newman in.

Were the penalties enough or too much?

Both, more fines less points docked on Truex.

News: Congrats to Vettel on winning Italian Gp. Jordan Taylor holds off Scott Pruett and Scott Dixon for win. James Buescher holds off Ross Chastain to win at Iowa. Grant Enfinger passes Derek Meriweather for 2nd ARCA win.

Did Bowyer spin on purpose? Mike Helton says no, Newman and Dale Jr. say yes. Faulty camera makes Bowyer look guilty. Truex says no. Some radio commentary from spotter and crew chief make it suspicious. Are your arms getting tired Clint? Blake Shelton says Bowyer was a team player. Nascar is inspecting this incident. Brian Vickers also pit with 2 laps to go. Truex was the overall beneficiary leaving Newman out of the chase.

Chase Elliott wins at Mosport

I think Chase Ellliott's pass on Ty Dillon was fair. Neither of them had tires. I think it was just racing. He was not trying to wreck him, Ty Dillon came down in the middle of the corner.  Brad Keslowski and Marcos Ambrose did the same at Watkins Glen last year, but Keslowski held back and did not wreck Ambrose. Mike Skeen and Max Papis did the same thing behind Elliott and Dillon.
